lyrics

There are no get rich quick schemes. There are no easy ways out.
No drink me down quick diet’s gonna keep you thin or happy now.
You can drop below the water line and hold your breath for days.
But, on that lung busting rush for the surface, there ain’t gonna be no rose tinted haze.
And none of this matters. Why can’t you just be happy how you are?
Oh, what could be better than searching for Comets and Shooting Stars?
You can work every waking hour and try to blur the line of day to night.
Until your wife and kids are strangers and no amount of money’s gonna put that right.
You can cling onto the bottle, with a grip wound tight as a vice.
But, finger by finger your grip will slip away from this beautiful life.
And none of this matters. Why can’t you just be happy how you are?
Oh, what could be better than searching for Comets and Shooting Stars?
As the moon smiles on St Paul’s, the city’s bathed in a pool of light.
And you can’t help feel in awe and surrender to a summer, star filled night.
And none of this matters. Why can’t you just be happy how you are?
Oh, what could be better than searching for Comets and Shooting Stars?

Tales of the Tape:

Recorded by Mick Wilson at Far end Studios.

Mick Wilson drank coffee, went on tour, came back off tour and played drums, bass, wurlitzer electric piano, accordion and tambourine. I sang, played acoustic guitar, mandolin, dobro (a square neck, not a round neck, in case you were wondering), drank coffee and pulled the car over to watch the moon smile on St. Paul’s cathedral. Enzo denied any allegiance to the Slim-Fast shake and took the job.

Mick Terry London, UK

Mick Terry's LP, The Grown Ups was released in 2010. A slice of piano power-pop at its finest, generously laced with influences from the ’60′s and ’70′s. A pinch of The Beatles, a touch of Beach Boys & splash of Todd Rundgren all add up to nine classic songs about love, loss, faith and hope. The Grown Ups is an album of classy and intelligent melodic pop. Pop music for grown ups, if you will… ... more
