lyrics

Look at you all grown up now. The spirit in you shines.
Captivating all around. Bathed in Almandine.
A greeting that is warm and true. It’s good to see you looking so well.
And ringing like a bell. And ringing like a bell.
Sweet and soulful, your refrain. Fill the air with song.
The violet hour is on the wane. But, your spell lingers long.
A greeting that is warm and true. It’s good to see you looking so well.
And ringing like a bell. And ringing like a bell.
As each grain of sand falls by. Some things get better with age.
And all you have to do is try and sit back, enjoy the ride.
A greeting that is warm and true. It’s good to see you looking so well.
I said it’s great to see you looking so well.
And ringing like a bell. And ringing like a bell.

Tales of the Tape:

Recorded by Mick Wilson at Far end Studios.

Mick Wilson played drums. I sang, played acoustic guitar and questioned both the timing and the key (“It’s not me; it’s everything else”). So, we started over. Mick Wilson played drums (again), tambourine, bass, organ, wurlitzer electric piano, clapped his hands, stamped his feet, sang and repeatedly asked the same question about cling peaches. I sang, played acoustic, electric and leslie’d guitars, clapped my hands, stamped my feet, took the Bernie Isley guitar solo and gave my capo to Danny George Wilson. Danny George Wilson said “you should make an album”, so I did.
